#Leadership

Leading with Purpose

In 2019, some of our members had the chance to share at a panel in Hoboken, NJ - at the Propelify tech festival

Our friends and collaborators have long experiences working developing communities and empowering others, and this panel was a good opportunity to share in a fun environment

The panel was moderated by Carolina Castro. Sharing the stage with esteemed leaders Kimberly and Irma Scott, we delved into the multifaceted nature of leadership in today's tech-driven world

Embracing Authentic Leadership

Our conversation centered around authenticity, each of us shared personal anecdotes highlighting the importance of staying true to oneself while navigating competing priorities

We emphasized the importance of trust, encourage open communication, and cultivate inclusive environments

Navigating Challenges and Building Resilience

We discussed the inevitable challenges that come with leadership, especially in the fast-paced tech industry

We have a capacity to address systemic biases by intentionally creating a certain culture; drawing from shared strategies for building resilience

Key takeaways include the significance of mentorship, continuous learning, and the power of community support in overcoming obstacles

The Role of Community and Collaboration

A recurring theme was the pivotal role of community in leadership

We explored how collaborative efforts and shared experiences can lead to innovative solutions and drive meaningful change, emphasizing the importance of collective action

Looking Ahead: Inspiring the Next Generation

In our closing remarks, we reflected on the responsibility leaders have in paving the way for future generations. We stressed the importance of creating pathways for emerging leaders, advocating for equitable opportunities, and fostering environments where diverse voices are not only heard but celebrated

Participating in this panel was a profound experience, reinforcing the belief that leadership is not a solitary journey but a collective endeavor enriched by shared wisdom and mutual support
